Pat’s road to success has had many twists and turns. She was tired of the way she was living and decided it was time for a change. “It was very hard to go into class because I thought that the people were older than me and would make fun of me. But I walked into the class and my teacher made me feel very comfortable.”
Due to personal events in her life, Pat was in and out of classes for three years. Some days she got so mad she cried but she kept on going. However, not only did she pass her GED®, she also became a CNA and is currently enrolled in Wytheville Community College. What a busy three years!
She attributes her success to her teachers and friends who encouraged her to keep on going. “I’ve made some stupid mistakes in my life, but getting my GED® is not one of them! Doors are opening for me and I know that if I can do it, others can too.”
